Hojlund apologies for Instagram post after United draw

Rasmus Hojlund has apologised for his Instagram post after Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United drew 3-3 in Porto last night.

The Danish forward doubled United’s lead on his first start of the season before they conceded three goals in 27 minutes to further increase the pressure on ten Hag.

After the draw, Hojlund posted: “Luckily I had 6 weeks to practice my celebration,” angering United supporters, forcing Hojlund to apologise.

He wrote: “I’ve seen some anger about my post of yesterday.

“I never intended that… I was only happy to be back out there on the scoresheet again after a tough few weeks where I couldn’t play and score.

“Obviously we go for the win, and I will give everything to make you guys happy, sorry yesterday’s post was not the case.

“Let’s move on, getting ready to give everything again on Sunday.”

Hojlund has since edited his post, adding, “A win would’ve made it perfect.”

Bruno Fernandes was dismissed for the second successive game, but Harry Maguire was an unlikely super sub, equalising with a header in the 91st minute.

United travel to Villa Park on Sunday in need of a win with ten Hag’s job on the line.
