The raid came after tip offs from members of the public.

Details of the raid, which took place in August, were released today by Bolton Council.

Coun Sue Haworth, Bolton Council’s executive cabinet member for regulatory services, praised the partnership between the police and trading standards.

And she said: “Fake products may seem harmless but they are often sold by groups linked to organised crime.

“It’s also worth remembering fake cosmetics and tobacco products are not regulated and can be harmful to health.”

Trading standards are conducting an ongoing investigation into the crime.

Coun Haworth urged members of the public to report any information on the selling of counterfeit goods to the councils trading standards.

She added: “We will continue to work with the police to stamp out this illegal trading in Bolton to protect the public and those businesses who trade legally.”
