WATCH: Midsummer Watch Parade comes to Chester
More than 500 years in the making, Chester’s Midsummer Watch is billed as “the oldest and most colourful parade” in the UK.
Since its first outing in 1498, the Watch has become a major part of Chester’s cultural heritage.
More than 400 local people were involved in this moving portrait of historical events, local legends, biblical and other mythical characters.
Musicians, giants, dragons and pirates delivered colour, spectacle and excitement.
The parade passed down the streets of Chester delighting people of all ages, especially children.
It featured the people of Chester from the young to the old. It started at 2pm and finished at 4pm.
