Taylor Swift fans rush to her defence after David Grohl aims dig during concert

Foo Fighters frontman David Grohl evoked Swiftie fury after he took a shot at Taylor Swift during a concert in London.

Swifties are known for having their pop queen’s back – and they leapt to her defence after Grohl took a swipe at her while performing at London Stadium.

The Foo Fighters, whose hits include Times Like These and Everlong, are currently touring the UK – at the same time as Swift’s hugely-successful Eras Tour.

Grohl said: “I know that she’s on her Eras Tour. I’m telling you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.

“So we like to call our tour the Errors Tour, because I feel like we’ve had more than a few eras. And more than a few f***ing errors as well. Just a couple.”

He then added, in an apparent swipe at Swift: “That’s because we actually play live.”

Grohl’s implication that Swift and her band aren’t performing live has infuriated her loyal legion of fans, who have filled 152 dates across five continents.

She even decided to host extra London shows because of the high demand and will be returning to Wembley in August.

One X member said: “David Grohl is a fragile little man who is so jealous and threatened by Taylor Swift and her success.”

Another person defended her and said: “55 year old man feels deeply insecure and threatened by 33 year old female superstar.”

Even non-Swifties have defended the Bad Blood singer. One wrote: “I’m no #Swifty but geez her net worth is 4Xs that of David Grohl. I don’t understand all the hate she gets, other than jealousy.”

But believe it or not, the pair actually have some history.

Grohl and Swift supposedly sung a duet together at one of Paul McCartney’s parties.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden in 2018 the Foo Fighters singer told the story.

Grohl said: “Everyone turned to me and said, ‘Alright Dave, play a song!’

“I can’t play piano, and I was a little out of sorts at that point.

“And all the guitars were left-handed and I’m, ‘Oh my God, what do I do, what do I do?’ And right at that moment Taylor Swift stands up.

“She goes, ‘I’ll do a song’ and I was like ‘Oh my god she saved my ass’. She gets up, and she starts playing this song and it sounds familiar and I’m kind of a little bit out of it, and I’m looking at my wife like, ‘I know this song. What is this song?’

“And she was playing the Foo Fighters song Best of You.

“So then I got up next to her and started singing along.”

It seems unlikely their next interaction will be so amicable!
