A Vietnamese chain is set to open a new restaurant in May at the Arndale Centre.
HOP Vietnamese is due to land it’s second branch in Manchester taking over the Samsung Store on Market Street.
The south east Asian cuisine group was founded in 2015, focusing on delivering street food in a matter of minutes.
Paul Hopper, Founder of HOP Vietnamese said: “HOP’s matched to both the needs of busy professionals as well as shoppers and tourists looking for a more interesting alternative to the regular fast food.
“Myself and the entire team at HOP cannot wait for our Vietnamese inspired street eats to be a part of Manchester’s dynamic food scene.”
Speaking to the people outside Manchester’s Arndale centre, they discussed what restaurants mean to the city.
Laura said: “A lot of people use fast food restaurants as they are quick and convenient.”
Izzy said: “I come to the Arndale to be in the heart of Manchester and the shops and restaurants provide a variety of chain and independent ones that you don’t get in other parts of the city.”
This will be the company’s fifth restaurant to open – there are currently three in London and one already in Manchester’s Trafford Centre.
Another of Manchester’s iconic landmarks MediaCityUK, recently opened its doors to another Pan asian restaurant, Banana Tree on 12 February taking over from the French chain Cafe Rouge.
Customers are drawn to restaurants based on cost, location and quality as well as the atmosphere and speed. One passer by gave his opinion.
James said: “I came to the Arndale to look for the fast food restaurants as I am a student. The price and vibe is important, if it’s not good then I’ll never go there again.”
As of July last year, Manchester had the fourth highest number of takeaways in England with 615 with Birmingham having the most with 875.
