Shocked onlookers saw a glimpse of a mermaid tail in Salford Quays – despite the water being less than 12 degrees.
Her identity has now been revealed as Patris Angel, a Manchester-based life coach originally from France.
Patris swims in a tail as her alter-ego “Mermaid Starlight Seraika” all year round.
Mancunian Matters spoke to Patris to understand why she enjoys open-water swimming and being a mermaid in her spare time.
