Summer is blooming on the horizon, and with it sprouts the Manchester Flower Festival which returned to the city for a long bank holiday weekend, from Friday 26 to Monday 29 May.
In the fifth year of the annual event, it attracted 100,000 more people into the city centre than the previous year to see the floral decorations, bustling markets, displays and live music.
This was a 24% increase from last year’s event, which coincided with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend.
From the lush floral displays to the buzzing markets, this year’s festival has rooted itself in the hearts of locals and visitors alike, as a great start to the summer season in Manchester.
