The final counts for the 2023 local elections are taking place across Greater Manchester today. What can we expect as the results come in?
Salford, Bolton, and Tameside all saw results come in last night – with Labour seeing the most success across the boroughs and the Conservatives continuing to suffer early losses.
The remaining seven Greater Manchester boroughs are set to reveal the outcome of the elections from midday today, and all results are expected to be declared by 6pm.
Wigan and Rochdale are the two boroughs in which counts are split between two venues – with Wigan counting votes in Leigh and Robin Park, and Rochdale counting votes in both Heywood and Rochdale.
Trafford, Wigan, Oldham, and Stockport are all expecting results for an all-out election today, meaning all council seats are up for grabs in the election.
The first results today will be from Manchester and Wigan – which are expected to be revealed around midday.
The boroughs expecting results between 4pm and 5pm today are Oldham, Wigan, Rochdale, Stockport and Bury.
Trafford is expected to be the last to release their results at 6pm – with a long count being anticipated for the borough which has 63 seats being contested in the election.
