A tantalising new study has uncovered Manchester’s favourite sex positions.
Research conducted by sex experts delicto.com has revealed the speedbump as the most searched-for position in the city. Missionary comes in close second, while cowgirl rides into third.
The study analysed data from Google Trends on 17 different sex positions, enough to make temperatures soar.
According to the website, the speedbump position is a simple variation of doggy-style, where one person lies on their stomach using a pillow for support.
The missionary position – a name once believed to have originated from colonial-era Christian missionaries – is now seen as the most intimate position due to the close eye contact and physical proximity between partners.
Data from the study shows cowgirl is popular in all UK cities, but fans should hold onto their hats – as it has also been linked to half of all penile fractures during sex.
Delicto.com believes the findings are not merely a matter of personal preference, but a reflection of the changing cultural attitudes to what goes in the bedroom.
It said: “Discussions around sex and pleasure have become more open in recent times, allowing individuals to educate themselves and explore their interests.”
As the results reflect a more sexually inquisitive society, Manchester’s love affair with different positions shows that the city is ready to experiment and have some fun behind closed doors.
