Manchester Airport is set to offer more than 1,500 positions with more than 20 employers at a job fair next month.Β
The fair, which will take place on 7 February at the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, will include positions in security, customer services, car parks and hospitality at the airport.
Other airport-based firms represented at the fair include baggage-handling agents, retailers and construction partners.
The airport is entering its first full year free of coronavirus restrictions since 2019, and is preparing for a busy summer season.
Over 25 other firms with operations at the airport will also be participating in the fair, including Jet2.com, Seetec Plus, Menzies Aviation, and restaurant and retail outlets like Boots, Costa Coffee, Wagamama and World Duty Free.
Attendees will be able to speak directly with employers and ask questions, as well as learn more about the requirements for each role.
Manchester Airport Academy β which provides free training programmes to jobseekers β will also be promoting its pre-employment support courses.
The airport has a history of reaching out to jobseekers in challenging times. In 2019, following the collapse of Thomas Cook, the airport advertised 5,000 vacancies to help those affected by the situation.
Those securing roles with Manchester Airport will have access to benefits such as transportation discounts, free on-site parking, a pension scheme and retail discounts.
“This is always an exciting time of year for us, as we look to welcome new colleagues on board ahead of the busy summer season,” said Chris Woodroofe, Managing Director at Manchester Airport.
“There is a wide range of opportunities available and I look forward to meeting the successful job-seekers at the airport, following on from this event.”
