Preparations for Halloween have begun in Manchester with the return of the MCR Monsters.
Launched in 2017, it has become an annual event with inflatable monsters appearing on building rooftops across the city.
This year it is bigger than ever with 14 in total, which offers the chance for people to go on a hunt across Manchester in search of the creatures.
For 2022, the MCR Monsters have been designed by Luke Egan and Pete Hamilton, who specialise in the international street art movement.
Their inflatables will get packed away for another year on the 31st October but before then, here’s everything you need to know about the MCR Monster trail.
What are the Manchester Monsters in aid of?
All of this is part of Halloween in the City, a festival which celebrates the holiday throughout the week.
A free family-friendly event, the MCR Monster trail is just one of numerous activities on offer to the people of Manchester.
This year will see a fancy dress challenge hit the city centre with prizes on offer, ice skating at Cathedral Gardens, as well as a Monster Procession through the Arndale.
But new for 2022 is the Monsters Rock! Music Festival featuring bands, DJs and a glow in the dark dance party across the Halloween weekend.
The fun doesn’t stop there though, with the ‘Creepy Carnival’ on New Cathedral Street where one can expect spectacular rides, street food, as well as circus performers.
This is all just a snippet of what to expect this weekend, so simply head into the city centre to check it out.
