Manchester students frustrated with university learning after coronavirus lockdown

The UK government’s decision not to put further lockdown measures in place as a response to the Omicron coronavirus variant has provided a boost to thousands of students returning to Manchester’s universities after the Christmas break.

After the unprecedented Christmas of 2020, where families were forced to spend time apart, it was a welcome return to normality for many in the latest festive period.

However, while there is a sense of relief that students won’t be locked down once again to contain the latest variant of the virus, frustration is growing about familiar issues surrounding their studies.

Despite restrictions being lifted, university policies continue to deny face-to-face learning, and the diminishing standards of education are providing serious concern for Manchester’s students.
