The publishers of Ghostrunner have confirmed on Twitter that a sequel to the hit 2020 game is currently in production with the original developers.
Digital Bros Group, owner of the video game publisher 505 Games confirmed on Twitter that a sequel was currently in development for Ghostrunner.
The publishers are doubling the investment for Ghostrunner 2 with Polish developer One More Level Games, giving them an initial budget of five million euro.
Digital Bros co-CEO Raffaele Galante said: “We are particularly excited about the future release of Ghostrunner 2.
“Together with One More Level, we have created a thrilling and engaging video game.
“This new collaboration deepens 505 Games presence within the Polish videogames market.”
Ghostrunner released in October 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and received favourable reviews, currently holding an average score of 77 on Metacritic.
A version of the original release was also revealed to be coming to next-generation consoles by the end of the year.
