The UK’s first vegan pizzeria is launching its 6th branch in Manchester this May in the former Dough Pizza Kitchen site.
Purezza is a 100% plant-based and vegan restaurant and won Vegan Restaurant of the Year 2020.
The restaurant’s Neapolitan-style pizzas feature its own patented plant-based mozzarella melts and its bases are made from a unique gluten-free wholegrain sourdough.
Purezza has sustainability at its core. Not only are its ingredients ethically sourced, the restaurant will be fitted out with reclaimed and upcycled furniture and the walls will be painted with eco-friendly and organic paints.
Items on the menu will include the Parmigiana Party (winner of National Pizza of the Year 2018), which uses aubergine parmigiana and vegan sausages, and The One with N’duja, featuring a unique plant-based take on the Italian spicy topping.
For dessert there’s The Chocolate One, which uses Purezza’s signature fluffy sourdough coated in a homemade chocolate-hazelnut sauce and topped with white chocolate crumble and ice cream.
The restaurant will also serve a wide range of creative cocktails and organic beers and wines and food will be available via delivery services.
Tim Barclay, co-founder and co-owner of Purezza said: “Manchester has been on our agenda for years now as we know it has a vibrant foodie scene, which will only grow once lockdown restrictions are lifted.
“We’ve had more requests on social media to open in Manchester than any other city in the UK, and it’s truly a pleasure to honour those requests and to finally make it happen.”
Purezza originated in Brighton in 2015 and has since opened branches in Camden, Brixton, Bristol and Hove. Check out the menu and opening times on the website: www.purezza.co.uk
