Online kindness platform brings communities together in lockdown

Lockdown has brought loneliness for many of us, but for one woman it has been an opportunity to bring communities together.

Lisa Hollinshead, originally from Wigan and now based in Sydney, has created a social kindness platform called One Another Community which launched on World Kindness Day last year.

People can ask or offer assistance to people in their community, send positive ‘notes of gratitude’ to others and offer pro-bono support to start-ups through the app.

Lisa came up with the idea when she was stuck in Spain in March as the lockdown first hit and got to thinking about people across the world who were isolating alone.

She put a call out on social media to the Sydney start-up community asking for help and 150 people came together and put in the equivalent of 15,000 hours to develop the project.

MM spoke more to Lisa about One Another Community and how it is bringing people together at a time when loneliness is rampant.
