A man has been jailed today after pleading guilty to manslaughter at Manchester Crown Court.
Jak Kent, 21, has been sentenced to eight years and four months imprisonment after the manslaughter of Lee Oates, 49.
In September of last year Jak punched Lee, several times, causing him to fall and sustain a head injury at a property on Leicester road.
DC Katie Halstead of GMPs Salford district said: “In this case, an argument escalated and resulted in a man’s death.
“Kent was undeniably violent towards Lee.”
Lee was taken to hospital where he died on October 2 2020.
Kent was arrested later that day and taken into police custody for questioning.
DC Halstead added: “I hope this case warns violent individuals that their behaviour can have devastating consequences and won’t be tolerated by the Police, Crown Prosecution Service or the Courts.”
Kent was charged with murder in October last year, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
