This week marked the first day of spring, with everyone staring out the window wondering when they’ll be able to get outside.
For the Manchester Mosquitoes Aussie Rules football team, they didn’t have that luxury.
Last year they won the Central and Northern England title for the third year in a row, and they have been training hard since the end of January.
Their goal? The Champions League in Amsterdam on April 1, when the winners of leagues from across Great Britain, as well as France, Denmark the Czech Republic and more will compete to be crowned the best team in Europe.
The Mosquitoes have a point to prove this year though, after finishing runners-up last year.
Mosquitoes and GB Bulldogs player Oli Hobin says they’re really looking forward to doing one better than last year.
“The team is looking very strong,” Hobin told MM.
“The old heads have picked up the experience of leadership a little bit more this year, which means they’re a little bit more vocal, and the new recruits this year are amazing.”
