Bury manager David Flitcroft hailed the impact of the fans in helping secure an FA Cup third round replay against Bradford.
The Shakers stood firm against pressure from the Bantams, who had the better of the chances and saw James Hanson fire over from two yards late on, to secure a 0-0 draw.
Flitcroft praised the bumper crowd of nearly 7,000 for the atmosphere at Gigg Lane, which he felt lifted both sets of players.
“A great atmosphere with the fans on either side of the stadium,” he said.
“When they came out to that noise it lifted our players and lifted the fans – it must have felt like a home game for Bradford but our fans were brilliant.
“It was quite a raucous afternoon – surrounded by Bradford fans but we stood firm in the stands and gave as good as we’ve got.
“It’s what we’ve been asking for – trying to get the town involved with. It’s not great weather [at this time of the year] but I’m delighted.”
In Monday night’s draw, Bury were given a potential home tie against Steve Bruce’s Hull City, who reached the final in 2014.
But Flitcroft is anticipating another difficult game at Valley Parade in the replay on Tuesday to secure a place in the fourth round.
“We’re in that fourth round draw and obviously got that difficult tie now with the replay,” he said.
“It’s a difficult place to go and it will be a packed house I’m sure as they love the FA Cup.”
