An Oldham post office worker is ‘traumatised’ after she was dragged to the floor and threatened by a trio of crowbar-wielding thieves.
The woman was opening up the Lees Road Post Office when she was confronted by three men, armed with crowbars, who had broken in at about 9:15 this morning.
They dragged her to the floor and threatened her with the crowbars, demanding she open the safe.
Unable to get into the safe, the thugs stole cash and fled on foot.
Detective Constable Colette Wilkinson of Oldham division said: “Thankfully, no-one was physically injured during this robbery but a member of staff was confronted by three men with a crowbar and is understandably traumatised.”
The men are described as white, in their 20s, and they spoke with local accents.
Greater Manchester Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen something, or who has any information to come forward.
DC Wilkinson added: “I would appeal to anyone who has information about the robbery to come forward.
“If you saw these men either going into or fleeing the Post Office, or men fitting their description hanging around the area acting suspiciously at about the time of the robbery, then please come forward as you could have vital information that will help us.”
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 9063 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
