Video of a ‘vicious’ and ‘completely unprovoked’ gang attack on three men near Deansgate Locks has been released by GMP in a bid to catch the thugs responsible.
The 21,22 and 28-year-old men had just left Sakura and were stood on the opposite side of the road near Rebellion Bar and the ramp to Deansgate station when they were attacked at around 4am on Tuesday June 2.
They were approached by a group of seven men and a woman and were violently attacked – and the 28-year-old was left with a broken jaw – before the offenders ran off.
Police Constable Paul Eastham said: “This was a vicious assault that left one man with serious facial injuries and in a lot of pain.
“It appears the assault was completely unprovoked and I would ask anyone who may recognise those in the images to contact us as soon as possible.”
The gang consisted of five black men – one wore a dark sleeveless top with a check pattern over a lighter coloured shirt – two white men – one wore a hooded top with a two toned coloured hood – and a white woman who had blonde pony-tailed hair.
Police have released footage of those they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
