Street party, vintage café and afternoon tea: Castlefield Artisan Market do the best of British for Queen's jubilee

By Elizabeth Wilkinson

Castlefield Artisan Market will be celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee this Sunday with a street party and vintage cafe serving traditional afternoon tea.

A mouth-watering selection of homemade tea and cakes made with ingredients sourced from many of the award winning stalls will be available to keep you refreshed all day.

Making sure the afternoon goes with a swing, resident DJ’s the Cotton Town Hot Club will be on hand to provide plenty of music and dancing to help celebrate the special day.

New stalls this month include fresh pizza to take away, vegan cheeses from Shakahara and vintage clothes and furniture stalls.

For the non-foodies there's plenty to browse and buy including flowers & herbs, antiques, jewellery, objets d’art, old books & vinyl, ephemera & curiosities.

The Cotton Town Hot Club will be playing from 12 noon with dancing at 2pm.

The market is open from 10am until 4pm and is next to Dukes92 – free parking is available on Castle Street
