Bigger and better: Iconic Manchester club Sankeys promises legendary summer to celebrate coming of age

By Claire Holden

Sankeys notches up another milestone as it celebrates its 18th anniversary throughout the summer.

Manchester’s legendary dance club will host a series of shows, and promises to be a wild celebratory summer of all things Sankeys.

Throughout the sunshine months the club, of Radium Street, will be dedicating its entire Friday and Saturdays to bringing world-class dance, house and techno acts to Manchester.

The broad spectrum of stars will include acts from Heidi to Chez Damier and Solomun to Reboot.

Sankeys director, David Vincent said: “We are all incredibly proud to be celebrating 18 years of Sankeys this summer in Manchester.”

Celebrations at the club, which was voted the DJ Mag’s World’s Best Club, will also include parties from The Jackathon, Visionquest, Diynamic and Hypercolour.

Friday’s shows will come at a relentless pace and will see artists such as Roger Sanchez and Tiga, as well as a label party from Size Matters.

They will be a fantastic opportunity to chance to see artists as they touch down to the intimacy of The Basement.

Saturdays will see Sankeys continue its search for the best underground sounds as it hosts in-house sessions and brings young stars and rising forces together to celebrate the spectrum of house and techno music.

The celebrations will be an augmentation of everything that has catapulted the club's evolution to the present day, and promise to elevate Sankeys’ stature as an iconic bastion of dance music.

Mr Vincent said: “The 18th anniversary is going to be an iconic summer for everyone involved with the club, and we really believe we have got some of the most forward-thinking talent around to help us celebrate.”

The special events will run from July 6 – September 22.
