Mancunian Matters again team up with Manchester’s best-loved cocktail shakers and makers Socio Rehab to bring you sunshine in a glass… Rhubarb and Sparkle.
This week’s cheeky tipple compliments the gorgeous weather perfectly as rhubarb liquor, gin and prosecco are united for a delicious taste that hits just the spot.
Northern Quarter’s Socio Rehab have created this mix personally for Mancunian Matters and now you can enjoy the fantastic fusion after a hard day off or even concoct one at home!
The typically English-inspired drink uses traditional heart, passion and flavours – the rhubarb used is produced in Yorkshire – to create a fresh sense of summertime.
It’s seasonal. It’s symbolic. It’s the taste of your summer.
To make your own Rhubarb and Sparkle use the recipe below:
Ingredients –
20ml Sipsmith gin
20ml rhubarb liquor or syrup
20ml lemon juice – freshly squeezed
1 barspoon of sugar
1 egg white (optional)
How to make –
Mix everything together in a cocktail shaker
Finishing touches –
Top it up with prosecco or champagne but make sure this is after you do the shaking or you’ll end up with drink everywhere)
Serve in a champagne glass
Enjoy!
