London based indie rock foursome The Tricks are playing at one of Manchester’s finest music venues, Band on the Wall, this Friday.
The Tricks will release their debut Double A-Side single Just For The Summer and Remember Me on February 6, through Johnny Depp’s record label Unison Music Group.
The Tricks are Brothers Joel Hodge (lead vocal/bass) and Ash Hodge (drums), John Bisset and Eliot Crabtree (both guitars). After establishing themselves gigging around London, the Hertford quartet caught the attention of Unison Music Group. The gents were flown to LA to record demos and worked with Grammy nomination producer Bruce Witkin to record their debut album.
Just For The Summer is a expressive explosion of guitars and drums, with a turbulent chorus and a melodic riff throughout. Contrastingly, Remember Me is a down-tempo, smooth guitar-led indie anthem and is reminiscent of early Strokes. The vocals suggest a nod in The Clash’s direction and both tracks make for an outstanding introduction. Your summer will be graced with an exceptional new talent in the form of The Tricks.
You can find their debut single here, with tickets available for Friday’s gig here.
