A huge number of the 20,000 strong crowd at the Manchester Arena were teens, waiting for their idols One Direction to serenade them.

TEEN HEARTTHROBS: One Direction
The five-piece took to the stage with pink fireworks announcing their godly presence as thousands of twelve-year-old’s hearts pined after their favourite member.
1D kicked off their slick performance with One Thing, the band’s latest hit, as hundreds of audience members rushed towards the stage.
The boys knew how to work their audience, playing about on-stage and teasing Harry throughout his solo during chart-topping megahit What Makes You Beautiful, but the boy stayed cool and delivered his part flawlessly.
Pop-awesome.
