Manchester’s Premier League ‘title deciding’ derby is being moved to a Monday night, as United and City avoid a Saturday lunchtime fixture.

The clubs, who are top of the Barclays Premier League table, were due to play each other on Saturday April 28. However, Sky Sports put in a successful bid to change the fixture to the following Monday evening.

The eagerly awaited clash will now kick-off at 8pm on April 30, giving the rivals a chance to recover if they make it to the Europa League semi-finals which are scheduled to be played two days before their original Premier League tie.

The city will be the host of an enthralling match as Manchester City and Manchester United sit in first and second position of the league. Many spectators are labelling the match as the ‘title decider’, which will now follow Sunday’s return of the Greater Manchester Marathon.

Police are expected to make a strong presence in the city, as they look to control what is set to be a hostile situation.
