By Francine Ponticelli

A young teenage girl from Crumpsall is missing and the police are desperate for the public’s help.

Petrina Amy Merron, 15, has recently been living in the Moss Side area and was last seen at waiting for a bus on Bury Road, Cheetham Hill, at about 2pm today.

The bus stop was situated near to the Iceland food store and it appeared as though the girl was waiting for a bus heading towards Bury.

Petrina is described as a white girl, 5ft 7in tall with brown hair. She had her hair tied up and was wearing a grey furry coat, black tracksuit bottoms, black Ugg-type boots and was carrying a Pink Minnie Mouse rucksack.

Detective Constable David Fox, based at the Protect Team at Grey Mare Lane Police Station, said: "We are very worried about Petrina - she is only 15 and should not be out so long on her own so we want to find her and make sure she is safe and well.

"If you have seen or know where she is, or if, in fact, Petrina you can see or hear this appeal, please get in touch with us."

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Bradford Park Police Station on 0161 856 3543 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
