Axe-wielding robbers in Halloween masks leave Middleton Three Arrows pub staff 'badly shaken'

By Dean Wilkins

Axe-wielding thieves wearing Halloween masks robbed a Higher Blackley pub on Monday.

The pair broke into the Three Arrows pub on Middleton Road at around 12.30am after climbing onto the roof, removing the security baring and forcing open a kitchen window.

The thieves went into the pub and threatened two managers who disturbed them – the offenders ran off after stealing money and a mobile phone.

Detective Constable Pamela Thorpe, from North Manchester CID, said, "The men responsible for this robbery were very determined criminals who went equipped with axes to intimidate their victims.

"Thankfully no-one was injured, but the threat of violence means the victims are badly shaken up.

"I would appeal to anyone who has information about this robbery to come forward."

The first offender is described as male, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, of slim build. He wore black clothing with a hood and a Halloween mask.

The second offender is described as male, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 7in tall, of slim build. He wore black clothing with a hood and a Halloween mask.

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 3536/5343/3020 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
