Ahead of the North West’s inaugural Northern Sessions night at Manchester235 Casino – in collaboration with MM – Death to the Strange reveal their softer side.
Death to the Strange will provide the perfect Northern hors d'oeuvres as the engaging quintet look better than ever to expand upon their support slots with James and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly.
Northern Sessions on May 27 will be the first night in collaboration with MM and Manchester235 and the four-piece will join Manchester’s Missed You At The Show and The Suns on-stage.
The night will be caressed through to the end by one of the city’s finest DJs spinning the best in indie, alternative and even a touch of Madchester, so be sure to keep the drinks flowing and those feet moving.
Death to the Strange are a fivesome of men (Daniel, Paul, John, Jamies and Rob) with a passion for making genuine and interesting music. They’re unafraid to make unusual noises and tackle real-life topics in their lyrics.
Their unique sounds and song craft have earned them acclaim, a limited edition vinyl release with a Manchester-based independent record label and some high profile support slots and whether they’re entertaining street crowds or sell-out crowd they consistently inspire and engage with their listeners.
Speaking ahead of their gig the band seemed delighted and passionate about Manchester: “We feel like we're on the same wavelength as the music lovers here because we are them and they are us.
“We hope people relate to our lyrics because we are talking about places and experiences that they understand.
Now open 24/7, Manchester235 Casino gives the city a unique party destination featuring lavish décor, the stunning contemporary Linen restaurant, a chic cocktail bar, a luxurious multi-use private event suite, a spacious poker lounge and a multitude of gaming facilities including Blackjack, Roulette, Slots and Punto Banco.
And the boys are making every effort to fit into the unique environment of Manchester235: “We try and make all our gigs special. But we will be playing a song that our mate Nathan from Frazer King says is the best ever song about signing on... It's called 'Sign On'.”
But it was their support slot with Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly which really stands out among the crowd: “It has let people see us in front of big audiences and shown that we belong there. We have always believed that the quality of the band is at that level and it gave us a chance to prove it.
“We received a fantastic repsonse from the crowds at the Gomez and Starsailor gigs and it has helped our fan base grow.”
Be sure to buy your tickets for Northern Session here before they sell out.
And as Death to the Strange put it there will be ‘lyrics, harmonies, variety and great live performances throughout, so don’t miss out’.
