The Salford man who gave his name as 'Psycho' Stapleton is due to appear in court today over the murder of an Indian student on Boxing Day.

Kiaran Stapleton, 20, from Ordsall, Salford, is due to appear via videolink over the death of 23-year-old Anuj Bidve.

Stapleton is due to appear from jail for the plea and case management at Manchester Crown Court.

Mr Bidve, who was 23 and described as a ‘promising and clever’ student, was shot in the head at approximately 1.30am on December 26. He died later in hospital.

The Bidve family arrived in the UK on January 4 after having learned of Anuj’s death through Facebook.

They met with Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Office Select Committee, on January 5 and took Anuj’s body home with them to India, where the funeral was held.
