Manchester’s The Bridgewater Hall welcomes X Factor success Rebecca Ferguson as she returns to the North West, bringing her nationwide tour along. The Liverpudlian’s debut album Heaven became a Top Three success and has later achieved Platinum status. Her sensational soul-voice has earned the applause of critics, labelling Ferguson as one of the country’s finest performers. And deservedly so.

Tuesday February 21

Dave Williams, XS Malarkey, Tickets £5 or £3 for members, 19.30

Manchester’s comical legend Toby Hadoke hosts XS Malarkey’s weekly comedy night, with international headliner Dave Williams. He has performed in several countries, headlining the Sydney Comedy Store and appearing at clubs in Melbourne and Brisbane. He has also played in Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. He is famed for his crisp one-liners and surreal nonsense.

exposures 2012: new talent in moving image, Cornerhouse, £25 for 10 events

Manchester’s finest artistic and world cinema house, Cornerhouse, is hosting the country’s leading student film festival exposures this February.

The annual event runs from February 21 – 23 and is now in its 18th year.

With Shameless creator Paul Abbot as a patron, this unique festival gives students from across the country a chance to showcase their films in front of a cinema-going audience. Students also receive a unique insight into the TV and film industry.

Friday February 24

Sunday February 26

Clarion Cycling Club and family cycling ride, various locations, Free, 09.00-15.00

Enjoy guided family cycle rides from Bolton and Stockport as part of Manchester Histories Festival. Both will arrive at People's History Museum, where riders will then welcome the Clarion Cycling Club (CCC), arriving on their penny farthings and vintage cycles.

Take the opportunity to speak to riders and see their cycles up close. Explore the museum displays of Clarion material from our collections, followed by a guided family cycle ride with the CCC riders to the Working Class Movement Library where they will treat us to a Clarion tea!
