A lot has been made of Roberto Mancini’s actions on the sidelines but I honestly believe it is all being blown out of proportion.

Yes imaginary card waving is something we want to stamp out of the game and nobody wants to see players or coaches getting other players booked.

But it is probably a spur of the moment thing from Mancini and in hindsight I think he knows that he shouldn’t be doing it.

When we are trying to stop players from doing it, it obviously doesn’t look great when a manager is on the touchline doing it.

However it probably is more of an Italian thing as you do see a bit more of that in their game, but he has been here 18 months or so he should know better.

It is something that I think David Platt will be reminding him every now and again to try and stop doing and I think it is something he will stop doing now.

But I think on the couple of the occasions he has done it, it has been an instinctive thing and he means no harm by it.

He has apologised straight after doing it said that he shouldn’t be doing it and that is good enough in my book.

I don’t think it is something he should be doing and I don’t think it is something he will continual to do and I think he will get the hint.

We don’t want to see players doing it and we saw in the El Clasico the other night that it can really ruin a game.

But he is nowhere near that level so we have nothing to worry about just now.

I think the main issue isn't

I think the main issue isn't that he's waved an imaginary card, unfortunately it's more and more common, but that he slated Rooney for exactly the same thing and has done it a couple of times shortly after. As I remember I think he's also refused to apologise for it. Hypocrisy, thy name is Mancini.
