Before finding fame on the song contest, Misha was a regular at the salon opting for the now infamous quiff she sported on the show.
Ms British recounted how they would both sing in the salon keeping Moss Side residents entertained.
In regards to her now famous customer, Ms British said: “She’s amazing. When I saw her I was so overjoyed.”
The Misha B makeovers have proven successful with prices from £25 upwards, depending on the style.
Although, Ms British has been hairdressing for 18 years, she began to carve a name for herself in the dancehall and bashment scene.
Ms British has been DJ-ing for four years and is one of the few female DJ’s on the dancehall scene. Her DJ-ing has brought her national success, with shows played in Bristol, Birmingham and Sheffield.
She is also working to improve the image of Moss Side through her DJ set and also by recognising local talent.
“People who have not grown up in Moss Side think that it is a bit crazy but it really isn’t,” she said.
Ms British is hoping to start a talent contest next year in Moss Side to scour local talent. In the meantime, the single mother of one, wishes to focus on her DJ set which is entitled ‘Girls Rush’.
