The ride begins by taking the Ashton Old Road (A635) towards Saddleworth and through the northern end of the Derbyshire Peak District. As it is a short ride, about 9 miles in total, riders can take the time to stop along the way at many of the Peak District's beauty spots. At the 7 mile mark, merge left onto Thick Hollins Road for approximately 200 yards before taking a right onto Dean Road. After the next right turn which is Upper Thong, turn left onto Spring Gardens and follow the road into Holmfirth.
