Detroit luminary Omar-S will be joined by talented DJ and producer Kyle Hall in a Manchester showcase of the talent emerging from the home of US techno.
Omar-S broke onto the scene in 2003. Using analogue equipment his maverick funky techno and house sounds were an instant hit with Detroit’s musical elite.
Often mentioned in the same vein as Detroit native Theo Parrish, he is an artist in his own right.
His Fabric mix was generally well received but to witness the full energy and scope of his sets seeing him live is an absolute must.
Kyle Hall, or KMFH as he likes to be known, is something of a precocious talent.
Having released his debut on Omar-S’ FXHE label at the age of 15 Hall’s warm, layered sounds are driven by surging house and techno inspired beats.
Perhaps the slightly more modern minded of the two in his approach to electronic music, he has been embraced by a wide range of DJs and producers from house, techno and dubstep circles.
It is a rare treat to see these two artists performing together in Manchester.
With more acts to be announced, anyone with even a passing interest in Detroit’s musical heritage should grab a ticket.
Omar-S will be at Sankeys on Saturday October 6. Tickets are £12. Visit http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?396351 for more information.
