The family of an 18-year-old who died after a motorcycling collision in Oldham are paying tribute to him.
Lee Wilson, from Blackley, suffered serious chest injuries after crashing a mini motorbike into a metal barrier in Chadderton Hall Park at 10.10pm yesterday.
Mr Wilson was taken to hospital however he died shortly after as a result of his injuries.
His family said: “There are no words which can describe how we are feeling. Lee was a loveable rogue, but had the biggest heart anyone could have had.
“He was a loving son to his mum Gail and dad Paul, and a loving brother to Amie, Karl and Connor. He was also a loving uncle to Jacob and was so loved by all the family.
“When you left us, you took some of our hearts with you. We are absolutely devastated. Sleep tight little guy, love you always and forever.”
Police Constable Danny Byrne, of Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident which has resulted in Lee’s untimely death, at the age of only 18.
“Our thoughts are with his family, who are being supported by specially trained officers at this very difficult time.
“Inquiries are on going to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the collision and I would ask for any witnesses or anyone with information to please get in touch.”
