Manchester City win the Barclays Premier League after Sergio Aguero's stoppage-time winner steals title from Manchester United

Sergio Aguero’s stoppage-time winner sealed a spectacular and amazing comeback to give Manchester City their first Premier League title.

The Argentine scored with just seconds to go after City went into time added-on trailing 2-1 to QPR before goals from Eden Dzeko and Aguero ended their 44 year wait for the title.

But the two-goals in five minutes gave City the win and their first title since 1968, with thousands of ecstatic City fans invading the pitch.

City went into the game ahead of the Reds on goal difference, with even the most-hardened City fan expecting former boss Mark Hughes’ QPR side to be brushed aside.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side headed to Sunderland knowing that a win would still not be enough if Roberto Mancini’s side picked up all three points.

United drew first blood on the last day when Rooney’s header on 20 minutes put them top as City struggled to break down a determined QPR.

But the Etihad erupted when Argentine right back Pablo Zabaletta toe-poked Yaya Toure’s flick past Kenny – via the post – on 39 minutes to put City one-up and start the biggest Poznan the fans have seen.

City were rocked just minutes after the break when Djibril Cisse capitalised on Joleon Lescott’s error to fire QPR level and put United back on top.

But former player and bad-boy Joey Barton handed City the advantage when he was sent off for elbowing Carlos Tevez in the face before kicking Sergio Aguero and trying to headbutt Vincent Kompany.

But it got worse for City when QPR striker Jamie Mackie headed home past Joe Hart to give Rangers the lead and put United in the driving seat for the title.

United were repelling everything Sunderland were throwing at them, looking to pick Martin O’Neill’s men off on the break, with Paul Scholes hitting the post.

But Eden Dzecko’s stoppage-time equalizer gave City hope and Aguero’s drive sent the fans into heaven, leaving Sir Alex Ferguson’s side absolutely devastated.
