Pop-up fine dining set to wow Manchester festival crowds

By Mel Hughes

The Manchester Food and Drink festival will see its very own pop-up fine-dining restaurant in the middle of Albert Square tonight.

Tampopo’s co-founder, David Fox, and Jackie Kearney of Masterchef will be taking diners on an Asian food journey in their ‘Mekong and Beyond: An Asian Food Odyssey.’

The restaurant will be in the Gastro Room of the Festival Hub where diners will experience the wonders of the Far East.

The contemporary tasting menu will include a mixture of Tampopo classics and dishes inspired by Jackie’s travels around Asia and diners will also be treated to half a bottle of wine per person.

The vegetarian Chef will be cooking a five-course meal of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes however; there are vegan and vegetarian options available just state in advance.

The fabulous menu is…

Vietnamese Lettuce Wrap Mint, Asian basil, coriander, cucumber, with a chilli, ginger and garlic sambal.

Asian Dumplings Little steamed, braised & fried parcels of deliciousness!

Singapore Laksa with Lobster & Mussels Yellow noodles, lobster and mussels in a fiery coconut broth,  with mint, cucumber, red onion, tofu & lime.

Malaysian Rendang served three ways Rich coconut curry served with beef, tempeh & jackfruit served with lime rice and Asian vegetable fritters.

Vietnamese Creme Caramel Served with caramelised pineapple & ginger wafers.

Tickets are priced at £39, to buy your ticket please call the restaurant on 0161 819 1966 or visit the Paypal page.
