Santa Teresa Rum support ActionAid charity in Domingo Fiesta @ The Yacht Club, Spinningfields

By Dean Wilkins

As the weekend’s sun graced over Manchester, the city’s finest cultural retreat the Yacht Club was firing up for their charity cocktail event on Sunday.

With Santa Teresa rum on tap and Venezuelan food flowing, the Spinningfields site helped to raise money for international charity ActionAid.

Corrie’s Mikey North, Hollyoaks’ Tom Scurr and James Conway and T4’s Darren Jeffries turned out for the rum goodness as the cheeky tipples trickled into rum-infused ice cream and cupcakes by Penelopes and Hey Little Cupcake.

The fiesta spirit continued throughout the evening as Brazilian music roared out from DJ Jamie Holmes and partiers celebrated the night away.

The Yacht Club, inspired by the French Riviera, offers Manchester the perfect slice of escapism; lounge on a large white leather daybed or soak up the rays amongst the palm trees on the outside deck.

The chic, elegant bar serves some of the finest cocktails in Manchester, as well as champagnes, wines and ice-cold beers.

Santa Teresa Rum is a beautifully crafted product from Venezuela with over 200 years of production history.

Not only a producer of fine rum, they are also huge ambassadors of community investment with a project that employs local ex-offenders and give them a positive lifestyle and a career as well as The Santa Teresa Foundation which is set up to create a model county and increase the prosperity and quality of life for its inhabitants.

Santa Teresa is an independent family-owned company, built on more than 200 years of tradition. The Hacienda is located in the Valleys of Aragua, in the heart of Venezuela.

The range is filled with blended and aged luxury rum full of body and taste.

ActionAid is a charity that works internationally to help countries including South America who may be suffering from hunger, poor or no education, HIV and AIDS as well as creating economic justice.
