A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, following a fatal stabbing in Wythenshawe on Sunday.
The body of 32-year-old Christopher McFarlane was found by police in a house in Tayfield Road on Sunday.
The family of the victim paid tribute to him yesterday.
Christopher's mother Annette McFarlane said: "We would like to say how shocked and devastated we are at what has happened.
"Christopher, we will miss you so much. Words cannot describe the devastation we are feeling. I love and miss you son.”
Police were called to a house on Tayfield Road, Woodhouse Park shortly before 5.45pm on Sunday, January 8 2012, following a report of concern for welfare.
Officers attended and discovered the body of 32-year-old Christopher McFarlane.
A post mortem has revealed he died from a single stab wound to the chest.
His mother continued: "I would like to thank everyone for their condolences and also Greater Manchester Police for all their hard work and support.
"We would ask everyone to respect our privacy at this most difficult time while we grieve."
