The last of the Old Trafford Olympic football matches may have been played, but Broadheath, Dunham, Bowdon and Hale Children's centres are ensuring the Olympic spirit continues.
Each Wednesday until the end of August, the centres are hosting the Toddler Gym Olympics, featuring sporting activites for local babies, toddlers and children aged 0-8 years-old.
Trafford’s Executive Councillor Linda Blackburn said: "The London 2012 Olympics, including the football matches here at Old Trafford, have created a huge buzz and interest in sport and sporting achievement.
"It is important everyone, young and old alike realise what fun sports and outdoor activities can be and the huge health and wellbeing benefits they bring.
“Getting youngsters interested in sport is one way we can all help our next generation keep fit and healthy.
"These Toddler Gym Olympics sessions gives local families the chance to bring their youngsters along during the school holidays and get involved in a huge range of activities.”
Broadheath parent Gillian Wilcock said: "Toddler Gym Olympics has encouraged my child to learn a new skill – hula hooping.
“It also keeps her active as well as socialising with her friends."
The Toddler Gym Olympics sessions run from 10am to 11.30am, anyone wanting further information can call Family Information Services on 0161 912 1053.
