Misbehaving Manchester university students are being left in France after a ferry company refused to bring them home.
Around 200 students caused havoc on the journey from Dover to Calais on April 1, as around 1,559 people aboard the Spirit of Francde ferry were left terrified.
A drunken mass brawl broke out between students, after many boarded the ship already intoxicated, and left young families shocked after they trashed the carrier while others exposed themselves.
The spokeswoman said: "P&O ferries can confirm that around 200 students from the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University caused disruption on an early morning sailing of its ship the Spirit of France on Sunday April 1.
"The company deplores the behaviour of this group of students, who were clearly drunk before they boarded the ship and whose actions on board were wholly unacceptable.
"P&O ferries has contacted both universities to advise that it will not be transporting these groups on their homeward voyage and to seek assurances that their behaviour is addressed."
The company said it had reported the incident to the police.

Correction: P&O's information of students being on their way to attend a ski trip in the Alps has been changed.

While some of the comments
While some of the comments below do seem a bit daft, I have to say that I too have had a ski holiday ruined by groups of skiers.
There seems to be a culture of skiers (and probably snowboarders too) of getting drunk and putting on their skis while parading around naked at night. And the hotels don;t seem to do anything about it!
It's things like this that have put me off skiing now.
I think you'll find I didn't
I think you'll find I didn't jump down anybodys throat with my previous comment, I was extremely polite in stating the fact that this doesnt happen on skum trips these days. And in response to the most recent comment, I happen to be a snowboarder and I have never in my 26 yrs partaken in any form of public nudity. These comments are ridiculous and immature.
No, it's your fault you
No, it's your fault you skiers always get your bits out while abroad giving the UK a bad name.
And don't get me started on snowboarders...
Fair enough, if you say that
Fair enough, if you say that the current students are respectable. But my comment was about two years ago, so no new to jump down people's throats when they are stating facts.
Well if you publish the false
Well if you publish the false information…it is your fault….Get your facts right!
It is not the BBC or
It is not the BBC or Mancunian Matters' fault on this - the bloody ferry company released the wrong info.
But yeah, all skiers are always getting their goulies out on ferries. It's well known....
I would just like to say this
I would just like to say this has nothing to do with SKUM or the ski society. I am a member of SKUM, though I was not on the ski trip this March they returned home on the 30th of March with no issues whatsoever. I did attend the Christmas trip which again occurred with no issues or complaints from P&O and no such behaviour took place! The BBC issued a corrected version of this story today, and I expect your editors will also be receiving an email from our committee asking for a correction. I do not know about this previously mentioned trip in the comments box as I was not a member at the time but I can assure you the vast majority of the society are respectable, intelligent students and any unruly behaviour would be caused by a very small minority NOT the vast majority. Thankyou
The University of Manchester
The University of Manchester Ski & Snowboard Club travelled to France on Friday the 23rd of March, and returned on Saturday the 31st of March. Get your facts correct.

This isn't the first time
This isn't the first time this has happened. Two years ago it was much the same. Manchester students, or their aptly named ski and snow society SKUMM, we're ridiculously drunk, causing chaos and exposing themselves around families with young children. It wasn't a case of a select few either, it was the vast majority!
