A brave teenager fought off a thief threatening to rape her after she refused to hand over her bag on a Salford on Wednesday
The 17-year-old was walking along Worsley Road at about 11.15pm when the offender rode up to her on his bike.
He grabbed her bag and as she attempted to fight him off he made threats to rape her.
The man then rode off empty handed towards Liverpool Road after being disturbed by two men who intervened.
Detective Constable Nick Phillips, said: “The threats made to the victim were absolutely chilling and she is understandably upset by what happened.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened or anyone who knows who the attacker might be.
“I also want to trace the two men that disturbed the offender and would appeal to them to contact me. They undoubtedly prevented her being robbed or worse.”
He is described as white, between 5ft 11in and 6ft 3in, between 30 and 35 years old, of very large build and wearing a black hooded jumper and pants.
