Sampling pioneer DJ Shadow, creator of the now-legendary Entroducing album, has been added to the impressive line-up of acts for this year’s Warehouse Project.
On November 9, DJ Shadow will be joining electronic legend Flying Lotus at the WHP X RBMA night which also includes Berghain resident Shed, Jamie XX, Floating Points and the inimitable Squarepusher.
Other acts already announced for this year’s WHP – which kicks off on September 28 – includes Richie Hawtin, Joy Orbison, Ricardo Villalabos, Orbital, Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, Bloc Party and more.
The events try to capture the essence of rave culture in the 90s while hosting cutting edge artists who are pushing the scene forwards for a new generation.
Originally held in a disused Boddingtons Brewery it moved beneath Piccadilly railway station.
For the influential project’s seventh season, WHP will return to the Victoria Park warehouse on Pomona’s Trafford Park Road, which earlier this year whetted the appetites of dance music junkies with an Easter weekend special.
It was voted by Mixmag as the best club in the UK and has hosted many of the world’s best DJs.
For Manchester’s electronic connoisseurs and the hedonistically inclined catching at least one night a year is almost an obligation.
