Cannabis plants seized following reports of gun fire in Miles Platting

Two people were arrested today after shots were fired from a house in Miles Platting.

Just before 3.20am this morning, police were called to New Street, Miles Platting to reports of shots being fired.

Police attended and secured the scene along with armed response officers who confirmed there was evidence of a shotgun being fired.

Officers searched the property after discovering that nobody was injured and 50 cannabis plants were seized.

A 49-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and firearms offences.  

They both remain in police custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Liam Boden said: “We are treating this as an isolated incident. I wish to reassure the community that extra patrols are in place and at this time we are not looking for anyone else.

“I would appeal for people to come forward with any information that they may have.”
