Competition: Northern Quarter's Home Sweet Home café offers free year of coffee

By Katie Rowley

Mancunian Matters’ favourite café Home Sweet Home are running what could be our new favourite competition.

The Northern Quarter comfort-house is giving you the chance to win free coffee every day for the next 365 days – yes, that’s a whole year of caffeine-fuelled daily goodness.

Nestled in the heart of the city’s bohemian area, the boutique bakery and coffee bar has plans for expansion in the coming months, serving up an even bigger and better selection of toasties, cakes and malkshakes (we’re not entirely sure what a malkshake is either, but it’s bound to taste good).

If you like the sound of free coffee for a year (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t) it’s easy to enter. Just hit ‘Like’ on Home Sweet Home’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/homesweethomemcr and send an e-mail over to james@beautifuldrinks.com with the subject ‘I want cwoffee!’

The idea of free coffee proved positive with a few Mancunians and visitors. Vas, 41, visiting Manchester said: "I’d move to England for that much coffee!"

Renee, 21, student, Fallowfield said: "I’d ask for all 365 cups and have them in one day."

With the announcement of a revitalised extension and up-coming events on the cards, this little coffee bar has big ideas. By day your coffee beans are ground to order, and by night quirky cocktails are brought to life in conjunction with the award winning mixologists at the cool kids’ new haunt, Socio Rehab.

For a taste of what’s to come, every Monday during February at 7.30pm the venue will be decked out for the nation’s favourite game – Bingo!

There’ll be happy hour food and drink with cash, food and alcoholic prizes on offer – it’s a cheap and cheerful indulgence for those gloomy February Mondays. Oh, and they have free WiFi too.

This isn’t your average coffee bar; get down and make yourself at home.
