A body found on the M61 motorway near Bolton is being investigated by police and motorists are warned of severe traffic disruption.
Officers were called to a section of the M61 at Kearsley at 2am today after drivers witnessed a corpse lying in the middle of a carriageway.
The person is thought to have fallen from a motorway bridge and was struck by a lorry but officers are not treating the incident as suspicious.
