Metrolink is making it easier for food lovers to enjoy the very best of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival as it partners with the gastro event for the second year running.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, Come Dine with Metrolink is back and has been extended to include more venues over the course of three days.
For the first time, the unique ‘travelling dinner party by tram’ will travel out along the new South Manchester line into Chorlton.
Metrolink is set to host three events in total on 8, 9 and 15 October. Starting at Kro in Piccadilly Gardens, intrepid diners will be treated to a pre-dinner drink before travelling along Metrolink’s MediaCityUK line on Saturday 8 October or the new South Manchester line on Sunday 9 October to enjoy a starter, main course and dessert in three different restaurants.
Philip Purdy, TFGM’s Metrolink Director, says: “With Metrolink at the heart of the city, we’re proud to support the Manchester Food and Drink Festival and work with restaurants across the network to stage Come Dine with Metrolink."
New to the festival for 2011 is Come Drink with Metrolink which takes place on Saturday 15 October and gives wine lovers the opportunity to enjoy a tipple at a range of wine bars, restaurants and venues across the Metrolink network while learning more about the beloved grape.
All events are hosted by the city’s award-winning Green Badge tour guides who will impart their knowledge of the city and its surrounding areas as guests enjoy a ride on the tram.
Mr Purdy said: “The event has proved exceptionally popular in the past which is why we have developed and extended it for this year to include our new MediaCityUK and South Manchester lines.”
Tickets for each of the events cost £27.50 (including booking fee) per person which includes tram travel. For further information and to book tickets online visit www.foodanddrinkfestival.com
