WORK IN PROGRESS: Socio Rehab

By James Byrne

Socio Rehab, one of Manchester’s most exciting cocktail bars, is resurrecting itself next week with a whole new decor and drinks menu.

Following a wild New Year’s Eve event, the club was literally taken to pieces in order to create a reimagined look.

Manager, Jon Kirby, believes the bar should grow with Manchester’s Northern Quarter which has blossomed since Socio Rehab was opened.

Mr Kirby, said: “Everything has to move with the times and we wanted to bring the bar in line with the fact that Northern Quarter isn’t the seedy backstreet area that it used to be.

"It will maintain it's raw and edgy style, with provocative contemporary artwork and a cutting edge cocktail, as well as sassy staff, but, it was time for Socio to grow up in terms of decor and finished. We've made it a bit more luxurious."

Along with the fresh decor, Socio Rehab is also launching a new menu to tantalise the cocktail-ready taste buds of Manchester.

Mr Kirby hopes the new menu will offer a more comprehensive selection of drinks for customers to choose from.

"We've got some exciting new flavour combinations and trend setting cocktails for the rest of Manchester to soon be ripping off".

On Thursday, January 12, the bar will re-open it’s doors to the public at 7pm with a party to showcase the new look.

Promotional offers will be available on some drinks and Northern Quarter based bake house, Home Sweet Home, will be providing culinary treats.
