The £10 Challenge - bagels and a beer garden in the sun

By Felicity Robertson

With the hot weather that graced Manchester last week what better way to spend your money than sitting outside lapping up the rays?

For some of the tastiest snack food in Manchester, Bagel Nash in the Arndale Centre has a daily bagel offer for just £2.

The New Yorker consisting of cream cheese, red onion, smoked salmon and olives is a definite must. Why not get your bagel and take it up to Piccadilly Gardens, sit on the newly laid lawn and eat in the sun? If you get a bit warm you can always go for a run through the fountains!

That now leaves you with a handsome £8. Obviously with the sun out no one wants a beer in a gloomy pup which is why it is an excellent idea to get back up on your feet and dander on down to Sinclair's Oyster Bar next to Selfridges.

Not only does it offer a large outdoor seating area, it is painfully cheap for your liver. Pints are £1.97 which means you can have 4. You now have a considerable 12p burning in your pocket. You have two choices; either put it in your favourite charity box or buy a chocolate Freddo bar. Perfect!

Sounds like a brilliant idea!

well while Bagel Nash do some

well while Bagel Nash do some very nice bagels I wouldn't walk all the way to piccadilly Gardens for it to go cold or soggy just to sit and listen to the bongos, with chavs and random weed puffers
